  Penny watched frozen as Cade headed up the stairs, only spurred into action as the door slammed at the top. He was right, she needed a mate. She knew, on an instinctive level, everything he'd said—about going feral without a mate, without sex—was true. He hadn't tried to push her into sex, assuming she already had a boyfriend, which meant he wasn't just interested in sex.
